At times I wish that there was a way that I could send you experiences and you could watch them on a little screen and know exactly how I was feeling and experiencing. I just feel like my weekly emails due to my lack of time, writing ability and number of experiences, just don't do the miracles/ tender mercies justice. I guess you're just going to have to trust me when I say, " Wow. What a week." Even though their were still tough time, I can confidently say that Heavenly Father's hand really was in every detail this week.
In effort to save time (I still have to email President and I only have 20 minutes left to email. Oops :) ), I decided that I'm going to share one experience from this week that really showed/ reminded me that God's hand really is in everything and that He has a perfect plan for each of His children.
The first experience was with our investigator, E. She is one of those "golden investigators" so-to-speak because her heart is so ready and willing to accept the gospel. She has been investigating for a couple of months now, and seriously she has one of the most powerful testimonies that I've every met. She is such an amazing example to her two sons and husband and is constantly teaching them about the gospel even though she is just learning it. Anyways, her biggest hold up from getting baptized is her willingness to go to church. She always seems really onboard when we go over, however, when Sunday roles around she always has something that comes up.
Anyways, last Wednesday we invited her to come with us to the adult session of Stake Conference and SHE CAME! I don't think I've smiled as hard in my life as I saw her come through those church doors with a big smile on her face. It was such a special experience.
Hermana Carmack and I were estatic. We knew that this was a big step for E and was the last thing she needed to be able to make that last step towards being baptized.
As the meeting began, my companion and I's heart dropped as we quickly realized that the conference was all about Family History Work and Temples (like EVERYTHING about temples and what goes on in the temples) topics that we hadn't really gone into much detail with Erin in the past. Before we knew it, she began asking so many questions like, "you guys baptize dead people?" and "do you wear veils in the temple?"
With a prayer in our hearts we tried to whisper the best response that we could, however, we were beginning to worry that it might've been a bad idea for inviting her in the first place.
I can picture now God laughing at us in Heaven saying "Calm down, young Sisters. Don't you remember that my plan is perfect? Don't you remember that I'm in control?"
Sure enough we were quickly reminded- and called to repentance-when after the meeting she expressed that the meeting was "exactly what she need" and how it "answered all of her questions she had been asking God for." She then proceeded to share how she things that her 12 year old son who loves technology would love family history and how she knows that her older son would benefit greatly from going to baptize all of this really close friends who died to suicide a few years ago. She said with tear-filled eyes that the temple is the key to the healing that her son is looking for and she cannot wait to get baptized to see her family in the temple.
God knows. He knew that this would be E's first time in a church. He knew that she needed to hear about the temple. He knew that this was exactly what she needed. Sometimes we freak out or complicate life, however, he knows. His plan is perfect. We just have to do better to exercise that faith and trust in him. It will work out. It always does.
I hope that you can all be a little better this week in exercising your faith in Him this week. I know that He is there for us and that His hand really is in every detail of our lives.
I love you all
